Film seminar with Maria Lloyd

DanseFestival Barents welcomes those interested in filmmaking to this seminar with internationally acclaimed director and screenwriter Maria Lloyd.

Norwegian film maker Maria Lloyd has made her mark both nationally and internationally with her films. Her background is dance film and cinematic stance.

During this seminar Lloyd will share her experiences on writing and developing screenplays in dance films and talk about what she calls “dream logic”; a more abstract and rhythmic use of dramaturgy. She will look at the tension between action and abstraction, character building and the difference between having motion and images as a starting point instead of a plot-based script. Lloyd will share techniques and tools that enrich and enhance the art forms, looking at clips and processes around "depenDANCE", as well as her previous films "SALT" and "Blind Dancer".
