Far away from what is perceived as the center of power lies the Barents region - the horizontal landscape far up north, where the people have interacted throughout the ages. From being considered an outpost, we suddenly find ourselves in a risk zone, where collaboration is limited and manipulated by external circumstances such as a pandemic and war. People sense an insecurity creeping closer to the surface day by day. Friendship are put to the test. Who are we in the Barents in an increasingly turbulent time? How do we reflect on the northern regions both in the light of the indigenous people's struggle, and of the situation in America and Russia? How does it affect art and artists' roles in today's worldview?
