Skår - av tro, håp og kjærlighet

Samovarteateret

Wednesday 9 November 19:00, Frityren, Arktisk kultursenter.

- Episodes from a human life -

«Skår – av tro, håp og kjærlighet» ("Shards - of faith, hope and love") have come about through conversations about love, food recipes and memories that have been shared with us. Memories that sit in the body, and which can help influence choices. Memories that change over time, memories linked to food and traditions. And memories that are told so vividly that they become a shared memory.

Many thanks to those who have generously contributed in different ways, through coffee slabber races and memory laboratories. A very special thank you to our reference group. Together with all of you, we have been given the opportunity for a "room of wonder" which we have taken with us in the process.

Suitable for youth, young adults and anyone who has been one.

"The dance floor must be thick with tobacco smoke and anticipation. Glass must clink, and people must have happy faces. Æ will glance at the accordion player, and ask him with the island to play a slow waltz - as soft as milk and honey."

Thanks to our reference groups in Alta, Nordreisa, Berlevåg, Kjøllefjord, Vardø, Vadsø and Kirkenes!

About Samovarteateret
Samovarteateret is an international performing arts company founded in Kirkenes in 1990 by Bente S. Andersen. We have produced more than 65 performing arts productions that have toured Europe, the Barents region and Norway, and have a strong community commitment. We are driving forces for the stories from the north to be told from the north. The company currently consists of five performing artists and one in administration. For our productions and projects, we have involved hundreds of professional stage artists, and thousands of children and young people, across national borders. The Samovar Theatre's artistic practice is about creating meeting places between people, between different artists and cultural actors, between artists and the public, across borders, cultures and professions. We work with informants and time witnesses. The result is stage art with a transnational idiom where newly written text, movement, multilingualism and music merge into a whole.
