A documentary film about the making of the dance-theatre performance “Tomorrow’s Witnesses" by LAVA-Dansproduktion and Stellaris DansTeater. During a 6 weeks rehearsal period the Swedish based choreographer Benno Voorham created a performance with elderly people who witnessed the forced evacuation and burning down of Hammerfest in 1944, together with young refugees from Syria and Eritrea who have fled war and who have recently come to live in Hammerfest. They worked together with four professional performers from the Nordic countries. The performance is based on the stories and experiences of the older participants and the young refugees and speaks about the impact of war on the individual and what it means to be forced to leave your home, your family or your country because of war.
