I’m going to push against you, but push back, okay? Come close. Don’t dare take a step closer. Just let me be. Don’t bother what I’m doing in my collapse, it’s my place. I’m tired. Can I fall? No? I’ll do it anyways. Am I hurting you? Am I forgetting you? I’ll hold on here. Do you see me? I have your sweat on me. It has found its way inside the fibres of my T-shirt. Do you see your sweat in the fibres of my T-shirt? Yes. It was like a storm, wasn’t it? I thought the wind was coming from the outside, but we were the ones keeping it alive. Stand up. Let’s. Okay? 1, 2, 3.
“Motstand” is a discovering of how resistance shows itself in the personal, physical, communal; the way it weaves through those layers.

The artists Nadja Voorham and Gerd Kaisa Vorren have collaborated with Mohammad Alhmidi and Ahmed Takesh, who are local to Hammerfest. The four got to know each other during the project “Tomorrow’s Witnesses” by Benno Voorham two years ago. Through moving, dancing, hiking, filming, writing, improvising, drawing and discussing they created structures to support the different, highly personal, interpretations of resistance.
