30 years since the Year of Dance
Thursday 16 November 15:00 - 16:30, Museum of Reconstruction
This year marks 30 years since the Year of Dance - a year that put dance on the agenda. The programme at the time was full of dance, from the north to the south, and the year helped to highlight the contemporary art of dance. In 30 years, a lot has happened to the art of dance in Norway - both nationally and regionally. Among other things, DanseFestival Barents marks its 20th anniversary this year. We therefore invite you to a panel discussion on the development of the art of dance in the north. We have with us three dance artists Solveig Leinan-Hermo, Liv Hanne Haugen, Mathilde Caeyers who all live and work in the north, as well as director of Davvi - center for performing arts, Susanne Næss Nielsen. As an introduction to the conversation, the general manager of Danseinformationen, Sigrid Ø. Svendal, will hold a mini-lecture that highlights the main features of the development of the art of dance over the past 30 years.
The event is a collaboration between Danseinformationen, Davvi - Senter for scenekunst and DanseFestival Barents, and is supported by Arts and Culture Norway.
