New Religion
Mathilde Caeyers
Friday 17 November 19:00, Ole Olsen salen, Arktisk kultursenter.
What is free will in a high-tech society?
New Religion is a science fiction dance performance where artificial intelligence gains a god-like authority over humans. Five dancers move in a four-metre-high labyrinth that constantly changes shape and dictates the body's space of movement. It is a chilling, dystopian performance that pits the organic and the mechanical against each other, where the dividing line between reality and fiction becomes indistinct.
"What technology does to human behavior is a question that engages a wide range of professionals, both among technologists, in the social sciences, in the press, in medical profession and human rights. It's nice to see an artistic reflection that contributes to the conversation with strength and at a high artistic level" - Anki Gerhardsen, Nordlys avisa
