Nordting
Nordting
Saturday 18 Nov 19:00, Frityren, Arktisk kultursenter.
- NORDTING is a Thing for the North
- NORDTING is a mobile people's assembly, a separatist movement for the northern regions and a party for the periphery!
- NORDTING is a public meeting, party performance and political powerpoint presentation
Dear Hammerfest! NORDTING is coming back!
After travelling the northern regions, and moving both people and emotions from Vardø to Alaska, it will once again be NORDTING in Hammerfest. And there is no shortage of issues to raise in the world's northernmost region: The government wants to electrify Melkøya, but people in Finnmark are worried about both electricity prices and wind turbines. The Truth and Reconciliation Commission has put 700 pages on the table about the relationship between the Sami community and the state - and in Hammerfest one of the front lines is walking. And Finnmark has once again become the subject of major politics due to its proximity to Russia. What will the future for Finnmark really look like?
There will be independent music for dried fish and oil barrels, there will be powerpoint, dance, reindeer horns, maybe a band, vodka, sing-along and political analysis. And not least: There will be polls! Welcome!
