In the colorful dance performance Kaleidoscope, the little ones are invited into a sensual and exciting universe. The performance Kaleidoscope takes the audience on a journey that explores texture, light, colors and sounds in an imaginative way. When the senses meet, magic occurs. Invites poetic dialogue In Kaleidoscope, colors, movements, live music, sounds, singing and speech merge into a harmonious, sensual whole. On the stage, the three dancers welcome children and parents to become part of the performance – through sound, movement or both. “Kaleidoscope enters into poetic dialogue with the little ones,” writes critic Maren Ørstavik in Scenekunst: “It is the dancers who lead the way, but the atmosphere is inclusive. (…) The dancers are able to respond to each child’s needs, and they receive a response themselves. One by one [the children] crawl out from pillows and laps, and soon there are far more toddlers than dancers in the circle.” A safe community Togetherness and community are important keywords for Kaleidoscope, which is choreographed by Shi Pratt. By cultivating a shared experience for different audience groups, she wants to create an unforgettable and fun experience – and a meeting point for new friendships. The performance takes place in a safe and inclusive space with subdued lighting and gentle sound, where children and adults can move, talk and explore the surroundings as they wish.
Kaleidoscope is adapted for everyone, regardless of needs, and is especially suitable for children aged 0–3 and audiences with neuro variations.
“I think that many of the children who left there not only felt that they had seen something fun, but that they had been spoken to on a different level than usual.”
