The theme for this year's festival was Dance on film. This was marked by The Museum for Reconstruction hosting a film café among other things. Short films were screened over three nights, with dance as the main theme.

New this year was a child and youth festival with child and youth activities arranged by Hammerfest Kulturskole (Hammerfest Culture School) in connection with DanceFestival Barents, from the 19th - 24th of March 2007.
