Vacancy - FESTIVAL DIRECTOR
DanseFestival Barents in Hammerfest, Norway is seeking a new Festival Director with visions for dance and performing arts. The director is responsible for the festival's artistic program and daily management and works to further develop and anchor the festival locally, nationally and internationally. It is important to have collaboration well and keep a positive dialogue with artists, collaborators and granting authorities. The director is also responsible for editorial content on web pages and in printed matter.
Qualifications
- Competence in performing arts
- Extensive knowledge of the contemporary dance field and other art forms
- Experience with festival management / programming, including the application processes / reporting, budgeting / financial follow-up and audience development / marketing.
- Knowledge of relevant funding schemes and art policies
- Structured and capable of keeping deadlines
- Good communication skills, written and oral
- Confident in Norwegian, English and preferably other languages
- National and international network
- Can work independently, creatively and is solution-oriented
The position is for 3 years with the possibility of extension. Travel is a part of this position. Salary is negotiated, extra vacation as compensation for overtime / travel.The Festival Director is the festival's only full time employee, the position reports to the chairman.For persons living in Finnmark, tax cuts, higher child allowance and student loan write-downs are provided through the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund

DanseFestival Barents (DFB) is an annual professional art festival based in Hammerfest. With the main focus on contemporary dance, the festival plays an important role as a facilitator of a diverse art field in growth and development. DFB is the world's northernmost dance festival with the Barents region as a neighborhood; A focus area characterized by diversity in culture, language, art, politics and economics, and as the festival through its activities wishes to draw attention to.
