"Syrjässä, sylissä - Hidden Rhythms" is a video installation by musician and director Lauri Schreck and dancer and choreographer Riikka Kosola with the theme of global aggressiveness and, on the other hand, the intimacy that people find even in the harshest environments. The installation is based on the idea of humanity, where each of us is capable of both extreme violence and gentle touch, and how our needs, fears, and desires continuously shape the world into something highly diverse. Filmed in the rugged landscapes of Eastern Finnmark, Northern Norway, The two simultaneously presented dance video works aim to highlight moments where a person once again faces the choice between good and evil, between a violent and a more accepting, tender encounter — at every moment.
