SPIRELAŠ - eläimellinen / dyrisk / animalistic
Multi-artistic work by choreographer Riikka Kosola and composer Andreas Gundersen.
“Spirelaš” is a word from the Sami language meaning “like an animal”, and the idea for this project is to reflect in an abstract way upon what makes us human, and what makes us animals. This will all be seen in context of the Sami / northern Norwegian culture, with the nature of northern Finnmark as the pallet of expressions. With this multiartistic performance, choreographer Riikka Kosola and composer Andreas Gundersen give life to performing creatures through dance, video, modern percussions and a landscape installation, finding a symbiotic, common core.

Riikka Johanna Kosola visits DanseFestival Barents 2024 with two different works. The level of ingenuity and adaption Riikka`s work presents, offers a new perspective and several entering points into the art forms she presents, with and physical quality that we believe with intrigue our audience.
